As the design lead for Nordstrom’s Programmatic Beauty category for over four years, I shaped and scaled the creative ecosystem supporting one of the company’s most dynamic and promotionally driven businesses.

From seasonal promotions and gifting events to ongoing marketing initiatives, I developed cohesive customer experiences through strategic visual systems, brand storytelling, and multichannel execution across digital, print, and retail touchpoints.

Working within a photography-led category, I created flexible design frameworks that elevated vendor assets while maintaining clarity, consistency, and brand integrity. The result was a scalable approach that supported hundreds of campaign deliverables across web, email, social, print collateral, and in-store communications while enabling efficient execution across a high-volume marketing calendar.

Transforming Selling Assets into Brand-Driven Marketing

This piece demonstrates how strategic typography, composition, and graphic systems were used to create a more elevated and cohesive customer-facing experience while supporting merchandising objectives.

Creating an Elevated Gifting Experience

Developed a scalable visual system for Nordstrom Beauty’s Gift With Purchase program, creating a cohesive framework that supported a high volume of promotional assets across the gifting category.

Partnering closely with the photo studio, I established consistent art direction and design standards that elevated product presentation while streamlining production. Motion and animation were incorporated strategically to increase engagement, create visual distinction, and introduce moments of surprise and delight throughout the customer experience.

To support the pace and scale of the program, I developed a template-driven design system for the gifting landing page, enabling efficient production, visual consistency, and rapid deployment across multiple campaigns and promotional events.

Led the creative direction and ongoing evolution of the Nordstrom Beauty Landing Page, establishing a central destination for campaigns, promotions, gifting initiatives, and new product discovery. Designed to support both merchandising and brand storytelling, the experience served as a dynamic hub where customers could engage with seasonal programs, beauty events, exclusive offers, and educational content.

Through scalable design systems and flexible content frameworks, the page was able to continuously adapt to changing business priorities while maintaining a cohesive and recognizable Beauty category experience.

Monthly Beauty Calendar: A Case Study

Streamlining Content Operations Through Modular Design Systems

The monthly Beauty Calendar served as a key destination for promotional offers, product launches, and customer engagement initiatives. Frequent inventory changes, offer updates, and shifting business priorities required content to be revised and published quickly, making the existing design and production workflow increasingly inefficient.

Partnering closely with production, content, and marketing teams, I reimagined the system through a modular, template-driven approach. I developed a centralized framework that allowed imagery and content to be updated once and automatically versioned across desktop and mobile experiences, significantly reducing manual production effort and repetitive asset creation.

The new process streamlined cross-functional collaboration, improved speed to market, and created a more scalable solution for managing a high-volume promotional calendar. By simplifying content updates and reducing production complexity, marketing initiatives could be launched more efficiently while maintaining a consistent customer experience.
