Lotus Elise US Launch Campaign

Introducing the Lotus Elise to America

Created launch campaign materials supporting the U.S. debut of the Lotus Elise, a vehicle celebrated for its lightweight engineering, precision handling, and pure driving experience. The campaign was designed to communicate the spirit of the brand while generating excitement around the arrival of one of the most anticipated sports cars of its era.

Through a combination of photography, graphic design, and promotional storytelling, the work helped position the Elise as a distinctive alternative within the performance car market while establishing a strong visual presence for the launch.

Brand Awareness & Storytelling

The story of Lotus extends far beyond a single vehicle launch. This promotional DVD was created to introduce audiences to the people, history, and philosophy that shaped one of the world’s most respected performance automotive brands.

Through a blend of historical content, archival photography, and narrative-driven design, the piece transformed brand heritage into a compelling marketing asset that supported the Elise launch while strengthening awareness and affinity for the Lotus name.

Communicating Strategy Through Design

Presentation design played an important role in shaping how campaign ideas were shared, evaluated, and approved. Created for Lotus leadership and stakeholders, this deck introduced launch concepts and strategic recommendations through a clear visual framework that reflected the brand’s performance heritage and aspirational positioning.

The result was a presentation experience that elevated the creative discussion while helping align decision-makers around a unified vision for the U.S. launch.

Translating the Brand to Digital

As part of the U.S. launch initiative, a series of website design concepts were created to extend the campaign into the digital space. The proposals explored how performance imagery, product information, and brand storytelling could work together to create an immersive online experience that reflected the character of the Lotus Elise.

The resulting concepts helped define a visual and strategic direction for communicating the vehicle’s unique positioning while introducing new audiences to the Lotus brand.

Advertising Campaigns

These campaign concepts were developed in collaboration with the Creative Director, with responsibility for creative development, visual exploration, layout design, and final execution. Working within the established campaign strategy, I translated core concepts into finished advertising pieces through image selection, typography, composition, and production-ready artwork.

The resulting campaigns balanced conceptual thinking with strong visual communication, creating memorable executions that supported the overall marketing objectives.

Unexpected Associations
Used an ordinary object to create a memorable moment of discovery, encouraging viewers to engage with the campaign message through visual storytelling rather than traditional product claims.

Freedom & Escape
Leveraged familiar cultural cues to reinforce themes of freedom, independence, and the thrill of the open road through a simple conceptual execution.

Anticipation & Desire
A visual metaphor exploring anticipation and aspiration, using humor and restraint to create an unexpected connection to the Lotus ownership experience.

“What Would You Give Up to Own One?”

Based on a campaign concept developed by the Creative Director, I was responsible for the visual development and execution of this advertising series. The campaign explored the passion, commitment, and aspiration associated with owning a Lotus Elise through provocative imagery and unexpected visual scenarios.

Rather than focusing on technical specifications or performance claims, the creative concept tapped into the emotional side of automotive ownership. My role included concept refinement, image development, layout design, typography, and production artwork, translating the campaign vision into a series of memorable advertising executions.
